There is an idiom 'Cat in Gloves catches no Mice' which means if you are being too careful or too polite, you may not get what you want.
Like you are playing football and you have forward position, you take the ball through opponents and have been entered into the D area, now you have no one to stop except goal-keeper to do the goal but a single thought comes in your mind "what if I dodge the goal-keeper, then it will be easy to goal for sure" and you followed your thought. What will happen? Either you will dodge him and do the goal (that's crucial because other team is also there to play against you) or any opponent team player will come and hit you from your back or the goal-keeper will have this capability that he may snatch the ball from you.
Rather, you could simply shoot the ball at the very same time when you had entered into opponents’ area and could have trusted your own ability then all these above dimensions wouldn't rise and you could have made your shoot count.
The same way it happens in all our lives that whenever we try to become too careful about our goals, ambitions or any essential matter of life, it becomes more hard and difficult in real.
Instead, if we trust our capability and ability to do any hard or vigor task, we can perform the job step by step through a process. It is a common sensibility that results don't come very soon. We need to be patient and consistent on what we are doing.
First reason which comes in mind is fear of being lost or mistaken. Means you don't want to put yourself in a situation where you see yourself a mistake-doing person or a loser. In fact, in every philosophy and in motivational speeches we hear that 'being failed or lost is a blessing' because you have gotten this opportunity that you can rectify your mistakes by seeing the past experience and can prevent it from future, finally you get a brighter and cleaner picture to take your next decision.
Secondly, we don't want to make ourselves embarrassed in front of others. This is major problem in every society now that we care more about what people think than we care about what we have to do. Such as being sophisticated in restaurants and showing that we don't care about hunger it's only the taste of food we are here to check, that's why we can't eat it as our stomach is asking us for, (must be saying "Man, I'm going to die and you haven't eaten since morning) but we still being careful about our style of eating. I must say it is complete absurd thinking. Eat, in whatever style you are eating, no one cares about your style because they all are busy in their own styles.
Third and most interesting, 'I have to do it once so do it perfectly'. This reason here is the one which is most irritating in my life, all my life whatever I have been thinking about to do, this thought comes in mind "it should be perfect". But how? No one can call your work as perfect because no one of us is here perfect in anything. We all have flaws and errors in our personality and in the jobs we do, then why go towards the perfection? Because always we like to be called as 'Masters' in our jobs.
These all three reasons are taking us nowhere except confusion, stress and depression of our better-looking self.
A man can be failed, embarrassed, and can never be perfect. Then why become too careful of our self and jobs. We should be faithful and self-confident that the qualities and abilities we have are enough to perform any task and those are enough to make my personality better and brighter. Don't care if you fail or lose, don't care if you feel abashed infront of people, don't care if the things are not being perfect. Only care that if I become consistent and patient instead of being too careful and too polite, I can rise and shine like a sun in the sky. Even sun doesn't care so why do you?
