The funny phases we go through in life after identifying the responsibilities that come with our complexions (yes! There are responsibilities that come with one’s complexion) . The white person is supposed to learn to be nicer to the black person because she is aware of the bitter history her ancestry caused and sometimes goes above and beyond to be friends with them or make them feel special. The above applies to every race . I’m Nigerian and personally have seen Nigerians go extra for foreign workers (white men) who come to complete a few Nigerian projects and a lot of times are hired because they are white and will make the project seem more exclusive or maybe seriousness . We try to treat them nicely , the people with the heart of the devil will try to swindle them thinking they are stupid for trusting people who made them feel warm so easily(that got dark really quickly). So basically every race feels a sense of responsibility if they are so interested in moving forward from the past and creating a race that does not look at color ; which is the human race .
Truly can we live without seeing color ?
No!!! I honestly don’t think we should stop seeing color because seeing color could be what makes us most unique. I definitely stand for not using color to stereotype people. Which is what mostly seeing color is about . The complexion of my skin can put me in a category that will make me subjugated and oppressed, the complexion of my skin can make me get favors . If only color can do this , what do you think gender can do ? It’s way worse . As a pretty woman, I can assure you things tend to work in my favor a whole lot (something a lot of women will deny but it’s our most versatile and one of our strongest tools,if we know how to use it ).
Basically the human race is already doomed if people see tribes,race,gender,religion and most especially social strata as a form of segregation of humans into various categories in order to give them identities and supposedly add order and understanding to the world .
Countries do these to themselves as well. I see the human race as the race that typically describes a friends with benefit relationship and if one race ends up with feelings, they either get cut off or reminded of what the relationship is based off of . The Alpha in the relationship gives the beta or omega, in some cases both of more just enough reason to stay and hold on and keep hoping they could be more and get better ; better yet, attain an equally beneficial relationship but this never happens. In some cases the Alpha could make some changes to make the other wolves feel better or equal but this is false because there is no true equality in the relationship and I’ll give you instances , there is no Slavs trade (at least that’s what we’ve been told )but there is severe oppression of other races. We still do business and maintain a friendly relationship with our slave masters, letting them still have a little bit of control on us.
Female empowerment topics everywhere but a majority still suffer from male oppression and males suffer because women refuse to see them as people with feelings,emotions but as “men”. The list could go on and on but I believe I’ve passed my point across.
Your color,gender,nationality,religion,social economic status is your identity. Some of these forms of identification you can change but some are the most basic form of identification. I say embrace it,change what you want to change but not because you’re looking to oppress the next guy (sometimes we do these things without even knowing) but because you’re trying to be a better version of yourself as a human being . The idealistic part of me thinks there’s a probability the below solution might work :
The minute we all try to be our best selves without bringing greed and our evil nature to be naturally oppressive when given the chance, we might just create a race which does not care about color,gender or any form of identification that typically has an oppressive form.
