NIGERIAN FOOTBALLER ARRESTED IN MALTA

Popular Nigerian footballer Sunday Eboh was arrested in Malta on Monday. He was arrested and charged with a love fraud case.

Sunday,Eboh was arrested along with three other Nigerians and a Maltese citizen. The suspect allegedly duped an elderly Maltese lady who thought she was dating an American soldier who had been deployed to Afghanistan. According to the report, the victim was led to believe that the soldier was returning to Malta after his deployment.

The woman fell victim to the love fraud and transferred € 58,000 (N32.7 million) to the suspects.

A police investigation later revealed that the suspects had committed the alleged fraud in the country and that the money was deposited in a large number of local bank accounts.

Eboh is considered one of the best football imports to Malta and has played for Marsa, Birkirkara, Victoria Hotspurs, Marsaxlokk, Floriana, Naxxar Lions, Birzebbugia and Pembroke all in the European country.

He also had a spell in Greece where he played for Apollon Smyrnis.
