Men needs attention too

When I was growing up, I was indoctrinated to believe that "men don't cry". I am yet to believe that assertion because I have actually seen men cry and we're better ogo afeaf the crying.

May i also remind that person who made that assertion that "men don't cry" that men are humans with emotions waiting to be expressed in different ways including crying. My main concern here is that men as well as women are emotional beings that deserve attention, care and love as well. But regrettably, the reverse is the case. Women are now the one believed to be given the whole attention, care and love without sparing some for the men. So unfortunate.

The society has not helped matter with tje enormous amount of responsibilities placed on men coming from the home, office, and the church. The pressures are just too much for the male folks and a man without support of any sort might break down and crumble under such weight. Due to this scenario, some men has been silent dying in depression and frustration because the society has told them not to cry or to voic out their frustration.

Some men are dying in silence because no one is there to appreciate them. These men have been drained emotionally without a corresponding refill. These men have withdrawn so much from their emotional bank accounts (EBA) into their homes, families and offices without getting a commensurate deposit to balance the account.

This mishap cause by the above scenario is a lingered silence fuelled by resentment, anger, depression and frustration. Some men in this category have devised some bad ways to release those tensions like sex, alcohol, drugs and crime which has only destroyed their self esteem, self worth and self confidence.

I will end by saying that we all need attention, encouragement and love whether male or female because it is what what feeds our soul, mind and body in this troublesome and xhaotch world.
