LAMENTATION: THE GIANT OF AFRICA
O Nigeria, the Giant of Africa
O how we were once the pride of Africa
A great nation
With great people
Where lives were like honey
That could not be bought with money
A treasure for pleasure
To the people of this great Nation
A treasure to be desired
By all nations
Till the great sin
That left us to sink
Our paradise of then
Is now a den of parasites
The killing of Christians
The bloodsheds of Christians
All this have left Her creeping
And crumbling
As a jet scuds the sky
Our glory has escaped our eyes
Assured of peace
But left in pieces
Giant of Africa what is this?
The fight against corruption
Erupted confusion
The lack of vision
Compounded confusion
Abundant confusion
The promise of change
That kept us in chains
The country is tearing
The leaders are smiling
The people are hiding
Nothing is happen' in
We claim not to fail
But end up the tail
O I wonder by whom this great Nation is sailed
The leaders are doing
The people are chidden
The Giant is falling
Falling apart
Tearing apart
They know of this fact
We claim not to know
That we are sinking..
Sinking….
Sin-kings
They keep stealing..
Stealing…
Still lean
We ‘re still singing..
Singing…
Sinking
We’re in hiding
That great Nation
Where are you
The Nation I once saw
where are you?
O Giant of Africa
Where are you?
Giants of Africa
Where are you?
The Giant is drowning
The people are hiding
But where are we?
Great people of this Nation
Where are you?
People of this Great Nation
Where are you?
Nigerians
Where are you?
She is sinking
Where are you?
The Giant is sinking
Where are you?
O Nigerians
Where are we!!
