Lagos EndSARS Report: Group To Drag Brigadier General Ahmed Taiwo Before ICC, Tells Him To Release Names Of Soldiers He Deployed To Lekki

A human rights group, known as The Democratic Movement And Rights Group (TDMRG), has threatened to drag Brigadier General Taiwo, who is the Commander of the 81 Military Intelligence Brigade and who deployed soldiers to Lekki before International Criminal Court in Hague.

The Group in a Press Statement by its Coordinator, Adeyinka Badejo and Secretary Kayode Adefila insisted that justice can only be done if Brigadier General Ahmed Taiwo who deployed his men to Lekki is made to pay for his crime against innocent protesters.

“We are on this and we would not relent until justice is done to the massacre of innocent protesters in Lekki. We have also concluded plans with other international human rights groups to drag Brigadier General Taiwo before International Criminal Court, ICC for justice to be done to the unjust killings of innocent protesters. He must also release the names of all the soldiers he deployed to Lekki. "

Speaking further, the group added that Brigadier General Taiwo admitted that he ordered the deployment of soldiers to Lekki while being cross-examined by lawyers at the panel.

"He admitted that soldiers were at the venue of the protest but insisted that the soldiers fired only blank bullets containing gunpowder into the air and not directly at the #EndSARS protesters. We all know that Brigadier General Taiwo is lying. He even shot himself in the foot while trying to defend his lies.”

The Group added: "Now that the report of the Panel is out; it is imperative to prosecute Brigadier General Ahmed Taiwo for deploying armed soldiers to the venue of a peaceful protest, the matter must not be swept under the carpet."
