Inadequate funding, a challenge that affects Nigeria educational system.

One of the greatest challenges in which an educational system of a country faces is the challenge of inadequate  funding. An educational system or institution can not function properly without adequate funding , adequate funding is needed to get the proper and necessary equipment, infrastructures, to pay staff, and also for daily running of activities for academic purposes in education. Nigeria is one of the countries with the best educational system in the world, but faces so many challenges one of which is inadequate funding.

Nigeria today has so many educational institutions starting from primary schools, secondary schools and tertiary instructions, these institutions are meant to educate and impart knowledge on students, but inadequate funding as the case may be stands as a hindrance for acquiring a  proper  educational system. Most of the affected educational institutions in Nigeria today suffers from inadequate equipment, lack of infrastructures like class rooms, laboratory, and important teaching facilities, which does not promote a proper educational system. These challenges does not affect the institutions alone but also affects the students greatly in a way that they would lack technical knowledge and experience, which can make them unqualified for job opportunities in future.

Most tertiary institutions in the country faces inadequate funding and this is not suppose to be so. Tertiary institutions is a level for higher learning which involves more of practical work and needs good teaching equipment and good infrastructures to make learning possible. Apart from the practical aspects in a tertiary instruction, field trips are normally conducted in order for students to travel and gain experience on how field works are conducted in their courses of studies, this would involve adequate fundings to be possible. This shows that almost 70 percent of a tertiary institutions educqtional activities involves practical works which needs adequate funding, without adequate funding students lack the proper education and this issue make tertiary institutions to graduate unqualified and un experienced students which is not suppose to be so.

The challenge of inadequate funding in Nigeria educational system can be resolved if the government shows assistant and support towards the educational sector of the country by allocating adequate funds for  institutions and also by providing more qualified staff to teach and impact knowledge on students. And also schools management should try their possible best to impact quality education.
