Anti-parasitic drug Ivermectin is FAST SELLING in Indonesia, Malaysia, India as Delta variant spreads

Ivermectin  is selling like hotcakes in pharmacies around the nation, and it's sold out on e-commerce platforms like Bukalapak and Shopee. "People have been lining up to purchase it," a pharmacist at Penang Island Pharmacy in Medan, North Sumatra, who did not want to be identified stated.

The drug's popularity has risen as a number of high-profile Indonesian politicians have praised its efficacy in recent days – and as locals become desperate as hospitals around the nation are inundated and turning patients away due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

"Based on the evidence we have, we are fairly positive that ivermectin may be a viable medication option to cure Covid patients," Moeldoko said, adding that it has been used successfully to treat the virus in 15 other countries.

Susi Pudjiastuti, the well-known former minister of marine and fisheries, has also lauded the medicine. Pudjiastuti stated in a video posted on Twitter on Wednesday that she took ivermectin with paracetamol and vitamins following a Covid-19 fear, during which she chose to self-isolate since hospitals in Jakarta were packed.

Interest in the anti-parasitic medicine has soared in other Asian nations such as Malaysia, the Philippines, and India, in addition to Indonesia. Influential politicians and independent medical organisations have ramped up their advocacy for the use of ivermectin as a wonder treatment as infection levels in these regions rise.
